Saturday 6 September – Merrick Stages Rally (SSCC & MCC). Based in Newton Stewart as usual and our jointly promoted annual Scottish Rally Championship counter with Machars CC; 43 stage miles and only 69 road miles, starting from the town centre with the last stage being 14 miles in Glentrool. Central servicing at Glencaird. A counter in the SSCC Club and Rally Championships. Saturday 6 September – the second half of the ESACC Navigational Rally Championship, comprising 5 events, commences with the Autumn Rally organized by Highland CC. More championship information and events links at www.esacc.uk.com/navigational.html .

Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 September – back up the A9 for the Guyson Scottish Sprint Championship contenders with Caithness CC organizing a double header weekend at Golspie; Littleferry on the Saturday and Kylestrome on Sunday.

Sunday 14 September – SSCC Off Road Autotest - a round of the Club’s off-road championship. Watch out for regs on the website or contact secretary@scottishsportingcarclub.org.uk .

Sunday 14 September – Autograss racing organized by Central Scotland Autograss Club at their track just off the B918 at Balado near Kinross. More details from www.scottish-autograss.co.uk .


Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 September – it’s the turn of the North-east to host the Scottish Sprint Championship competitors with Aberdeen & District MC running a double header at Alford, the final 2 rounds of the championship.

Thursday 25 September – SSCC Social Gathering at Phoenix Park Pub, Phoenix Retail Park, Linwood (Next to the Ford dealer). Monthly get together for club members and friends starting around 7.30pm.

Saturday 27 September – Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally –
perhaps the most significant gathering of rally stars in Scotland for many a year is expected at this the final event in the 2008 Scottish Rally Championship as a tribute to Colin McRae. Planned to use the traditional Perthshire stages, the event will be based in Perth but centred on Aberfeldy during the day. Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 September
– the final speed event of the year is fittingly at Doune for a weekend of hillclimbing courtesy of Lothian CC.
